Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Configuration

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) CONFIGURATION
When Replacing Wheel Unit

Note:
^ After the wheel unit replacement, Registration of the wheel unit identification codes must be performed automatically according to the following procedure.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, then turn off.
2. Leave the vehicle with the engine off for 15 min or more.
3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 10 minutes or more.
4. After driving for 10 min. verify that the TPMS warning light has neither flashed nor illuminated.

When Replacing TPMS control module

Caution:
^ After the TPMS control module is replaced, be sure to configure it by following the manual registration procedure.

Note:
^ To configure the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), the As-built data sheet and the four identification codes of installed wheel unit are needed.

1. Leave the vehicle with the engine off for 15 min or more.
2. Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
3. Select "LAST_ID".

Note:
^ If communication with the module is not possible, the individual identification codes must be obtained from the wheel unit inside each wheel.

4. Bleed the air from the tire.
5. Note the identification code displayed for the LAST_ID and the tire where the air was bled.

Note:
^ Verify that there is no other vehicle with the TPMS within approximately 5 m (15 ft) because an identification code sent from another vehicle could be mistakenly displayed.
^ It takes a maximum of 2 minutes for the LAST_ID to be displayed. If no identification code is displayed after 2 minutes perform the following and bleed the air from the tire again.
- Rotate the vehicle wheel 180°.
- Verify that the vehicle is clear of obstructions such as toolboxes, compressors, and people are neither inside nor close to the vehicle. If there are any obstructions, remove them or move the vehicle to another place free from obstructions.
6. Repeat Steps 3-4 every 2 minutes.
7. Calculate the CS value.
8. Input vehicle information following the directions on the screen of the WDS or equivalent.
CS (Checksum) calculation method
1. Select the "START" on the PC screen.
2. Select the"Programs".
3. Select the "Accessories".
4. Select the "Calculator".

5. Choose the "Scientific" from "VIEW".
6. Select the "Hex" and "sword".
7. Calculate the hexadecimal numeral. For example: 751-01 00B1 C1D1 00cs -> "7" + "51 "+ "01 "+ "00"+ "B1 "+ "C1 "+ "D1 "+ "00" = 29C
8. The last 2 digits are the CS value. (In the above example, "9C" would be the CS value.)
9. Repeat the Step. 3-4 for all identification codes.
9. Select "Module Programming" from the WDS or equivalent menu.
10. Select "Programmable Module Installation".
11. Select "TPM".

12. Input the identification codes for the four wheel units installed to the vehicle to section A indicated in the figure, and the vehicle data on the As-Built data sheet to section B indicated in the figure.
13. Verify that DTC B2477 is not displayed.
^ If the DTC is displayed, configure the TPMS control module again.
