RX8 DIFFERENTIAL OIL

DESCRIPTION

The workshop manual and RX8 Owner's Manual recommend using API service GL-5 SAE-90 oil for differential lubrication. GL-5 SAE-90 oil is not easily found in the North American market. The following oils have been tested and approved for use in RX8 with no loss of performance or increase in noise:

SAE 80W-90 GL5

SAE 75W-90 GL5 (This weight oil is not available from Mazda)

NOTE:
These fluids may be used in both standard and LSD differentials, limited slip lubricant additives are not necessary.
