Rear Tilt Motor

REAR TILT MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Operate the power seat switch and move the seat back to the full-upright position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the driver's side front seat.
4. Remove the front cover (No.1, No.2) and side cover.
5. Remove the seat cushion.







6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Rear Tilt Motor Removal Note
When motor is operable




1. Connect battery positive voltage to front seat connector terminal G and connect terminal F to ground.
2. Operate the power seat switch in the tilt-up direction so that the rear tilt motor rotates and the shaft comes out from the guide.

When motor is not operable

CAUTION: This procedure should be performed when the rear tilt motor is replaced with a new one. A rear tilt motor removed using this procedure should not be reinstalled to the vehicle as it may cause abnormal operation or noise.

1. Remove the screws.
2. Remove the bracket.
3. Remove the rear tilt motor and washer.




4. Turn the shaft in the direction indicated in the figure and remove it from the guide.

Rear Tilt Motor Installation Note

1. Rotate the shaft by hand and insert it approx. 5 mm into the guide.




2. Connect battery positive voltage to front seat connector terminal G and connect terminal F to ground.




3. Operate the power seat switch in the tilt-down direction so that the rear tilt motor rotates and the shaft is inserted into the guide.

CAUTION: If the lift nut is not in the correct position, it may strip the shaft screw, thereby causing the unit to not operate properly. Verify the lift nut position while inserting the shaft.

NOTE: Operate the motor until the bracket contacts the guide.
