DESCRIPTION

Customers may complain that during heavy rain, some vehicles may experience water leakage around the female wedge. Water is not completely draining from the drain hole and enters between the header weather-strip and windshield header panel.

As a mass-production change, a pad has be added to the area between the header weather-strip and windshield header panel. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Remove the female wedge from the side where the water leakage occurs.

3. Roll up the lip of the weather-strip and confirm there is an indentation (dent) in the windshield header panel.

4. Press on the weather-strip at the dent area as shown using a Plastic Windshield Setting Tool (Part Number IS742 - available from Equalizer) or similar available through a local supplier.

5. Roll up the lip of the weather-strip and insert the foam pad on the back side of the weather-strip as shown.

6. After attaching the foam pad, firmly press the weather-strip down where the foam pad was installed.

7. Install the female wedge.

a. Install the bolts hand tight.

b. Close and latch the convertible top.

c. Tighten female wedge bolts to specification.

8. Verify repair.
