Torque Specifications
Crankshaft pulley lock boltTighten the crankshaft pulley lock bolt using the following two steps.
1. Tighten to 96 - 104 Nm (9.8 - 10.6 kgf-m, 70.9 - 76.7 ft. lbs.)
2. Tighten 87°-93°
Cylinder head bolts
Measure the length of each cylinder head bolt. Replace any that exceed the maximum length.
Cylinder Head Bolt Length 145.2 - 145.8 mm (5.72 - 5.74 inch)
Cylinder Head Bolt Maximum 146.5 mm (5.77 inch)
Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the order shown with the following 5 steps using the SST (49 D032 316).
1.Tighten to 5.0 Nm 151.0 kgf-cm, 44.3 inch lbs.)
2.Tighten 13 - 17 Nm (1.4 - 1.7 kgf-m, 10.0 - 12.5 ft. lbs.)
3.Tighten 44 - 46 Nm (4.5 - 4.6 kgf-m, 32.5 - 33.9 ft. lbs.)
4.Tighten 88°-92°
5.Tighten 88°-92°
Camshaft bearing caps
Temporarily tighten the camshaft bearing caps evenly in two or three steps.
Tighten the camshaft cap bolts in the order shown with the following two steps.
1.Tighten to 5.0 - 9.0 Nm (51.0 - 91.7 kgf-cm, 44.3 - 79.6 inch lbs.).
2.Tighten to 14.0 - 17.0 Nm (1.5 - 1.7 kgf-m, 10.4 - 12.5 ft. lbs.)
Exhaust manifold nuts 43-64 Nm (4.4-6.5 kgf-m, 32-47 ft. lbs.)
Oil pan bolts
Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque 17 - 23 Nm (1.8 - 2.3 kgf-m, 12.6 - 16.9 ft. lbs.)
Oil pan-transmission
Tightening torque 37 - 52 Nm (3.8 - 5.3 kgf-m, 28 - 38 ft. lbs.)
Oil Pump Installation Note
1. Tighten the oil pump bolts in two steps in the order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque
Step 1: 8 - 12 Nm (82 - 122 kgf-cm, 71 - 105 inch lbs.)
Step 2: 17 - 23 Nm (1.8 - 2.3 kgf-m, (12.6 - 16.9 ft. lbs.)
Rear main bearing seal
Tighten the rear oil seal bolts in the order as shown.
Tightening torque 8.0 - 11.5 Nm (81.6 - 117.2 kgf-m, 70.9 - 101.7 inch lbs.)
Water pump bolts 8.0-11.5 Nm (82-117 kgf-cm, 71-101 in. lbs.)
