DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience poor reception or excessive static when listening to AM radio stations. This condition may be the result of static electricity damaging the AM amplifier that is located at the base of the antenna.

The antenna amplifier circuitry has been improved to absorb static electricity. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair information.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.





2. Replace the manual antenna with a modified one. Refer to Workshop Manual section 09-20 MANUAL ANTENNA REMOVAL / INSTALLATION.

3. Verify repair.
