REPAIR TIME AND SRT OPERATION NUMBERS
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear trailing link from the vehicle. Refer to MS3 online instruction or Workshop Manual section 02-14.
2. Press out the bushing from the rear trailing link.
(A): Retainer plate (Steel plate with 5.0mm or more thickness)
(B): V Block
3. Apply marking to 2 positions (A) along the bushing center line (B) in the bushing cylinder portion on the outside (C) and inside (D). Align the rotational direction of the bushing, then apply the marking with 2mm diameter on the penciled center line of the cylinder area (Outside marking is used before press-in, inside marking used for after press-in - for confirmation).
NOTE:
9mm is guide for press-in ending position.
4. Set the template (A) packed together with the bushing as shown, temporarily fixing it in place with tape (B) to prevent slippage. If the rear trailing link and the template do not fit perfectly, set the template into position so that the width on both ends (C) are equal.
5. Press-in the bushing as shown, making note that press-in should be done from press-out side. Use the marking on the bushing cylinder area (from step 3) as a guide until measurement of the following press-in amount.
a. Set the bushing marking (A) to match one of the notches on the template (B), and then start to press-in.
b. As you are pressing-in, make sure that the markings on the bushing and template are closely matched (C).
c. After reaching a measurement of 16.2 to 18.2mm in length (D), excluding the thickness of the template, make sure the markings on the bushing and template are closely matched, then finish the press-in process. If they are not matched, press-out the bushing and start again.
WARNING:
Repeated press-in can be performed up to 3 times. If exceeded, retention force will be lowered.
NOTE:
If you do not have SST described above for this replacement work, a substitute tool can be used. Reference dimensions for this purpose are shown above, however, tool fabrication cost is not covered by warranty.
