SEAT WARMER INOPERATIVE

2009-2010 Mazda6 vehicles produced before Feb. 8, 2010

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may exhibit a seat warmer malfunction where the seat warmer cannot be turned on or off. This may be caused by electrical noise affecting the seat warmer control unit.

The design of the seat warmer control unit circuit has been changed to eliminate this concern.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Remove the mounting bolts of the affected seat(s) according to the MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual (section 09-13 FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

3. Tip the seat backwards to access the backside of the seat cushion.

NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the seat from the vehicle to replace the seat warmer control unit.





4. Replace the seat warmer control unit with a modified part.

5. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal.

6. If the passenger side seat is removed, perform the SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION" according to the M53 online instructions or Workshop Manual (section 08-10 SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION).

7. Verify repair.
