Disc Pad (Front) Replacement




DISC PAD (FRONT) REPLACEMENT

1. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

2. Install in the reverse order of removal.

3. After installation, depress the pedal a few times, rotate the wheel by hand, and verify that the brake does not drag.










Shim, Disc Pad Installation Note

CAUTION:
- If the shim and disc pad installation position/direction is incorrect, it could result in noise occurrence. Therefore make sure the installation position/direction is correct.

1. Push the piston fully inward using the SST.






2. Apply grease supplied with a new shim to the contact surface of the inner shim and disc pad, and to the contact surface of the outer shim and inner shim only when replacing the shim.






3. Apply grease supplied with a new disc pad to the area that contacts the guide plate only when replacing the disc pad.






4. Install the shim and disc pad to the mounting support as shown in the figure.
NOTE:
- Install the disc pad so that the side with the bigger notch points toward the vehicle's top.
- For a disc pad with a pad wear indicator, install it to the vehicle's inner side with the pad wear indicator pointing toward the vehicle's top.
