Repair Procedure

When you encounter a customer complaint for this concern, please advise them to always try and fill the tank with more than 1.3 gallons of fuel so this symptom can be avoided. For customers who still complain, the configuration of instrumental cluster can be changed with M-MDS according to the following "Configuration Change Procedure".

NOTE:
Before changing the configuration, please explain to the customer that this change may cause an incorrect fuel gauge indication when the vehicle is parked on a slope for a long period of time.

Configuration Change Procedure:

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Contact the Technical Hotline to obtain the vehicle's As-Built data.

3. Using the "Conversion Chart" below, replace the configuration data (720-01-01) from the "Default" column with the data from the "New" column.





NOTE:
^ Carefully choose the correct As-Built data.

^ As-Built data will be necessary later, so record it now.





4. Connect the M-MDS to the diagnosis connector and select the following menu after the vehicle identification.

Module Programming > As-Built > IC





5. Enter the VIN.





6. Press "NO".





7. Press "YES".





8. Input the new configuration data obtained at Step 3.

9. Input the default As-Built data from "720-01-02" to "720-01-08".





10. Follow the instructions on the screen.

11. Check if any DTCs are stored, if so, delete them.

12. Verify repair.
