Removal and Replacement
STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5]
CAUTION:
- Performing the following procedures without first removing the ABS wheel-speed sensor may possibly cause an open circuit in the harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before performing the following procedures, remove the ABS wheel-speed sensor (axle side) and fix it to an appropriate place where the sensor will not be pulled by mistake while servicing the vehicle.

4. Set the front mudguard out of the way. Service and Repair
5. Remove the splash shield.
6. Remove the aerodynamic under cover No.2. Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2 Removal/Installation
7. Remove the transverse member. Transverse Member Removal/Installation
8. Remove the front crossmember component. Front Crossmember Removal/Installation
9. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
11. After installation, inspect the front wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. Front Wheel Alignment
Steering Gear and Linkage Installation Note
1. Temporarily tighten the bolts.
2. Tighten the steering gear and linkage installation bolts to the specified torque in the order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque
- 75-104 Nm {7.7-10 kgf-m, 56-76 ft-lbf}
