Front Lower Arm Removal/Installation




FRONT LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Performing the following procedures without first removing the ABS wheel-speed sensor may possibly cause an open circuit in the harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before performing the following procedures, remove the ABS wheel-speed sensor (axle side) and fix it to an appropriate place where the sensor will not be pulled by mistake while servicing the vehicle.

1. Remove the aerodynamic under cover No.2. (L5) Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2 Removal/Installation

2. For the vehicle with MZI-3.7, working on the right side of the vehicle, remove the front pipe. Service and Repair

3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

5. Inspect for front wheel alignment. Front Wheel Alignment










Front Lower Arm Outer Side Nut Removal Note

WARNING:
- If the stud bolt of the front knuckle is loosened when removing the front lower arm outer nut, replace the stud bolt with a new one. If the stud bolt is reused, it could fall off while driving, resulting in serious injury or death, and damage to the vehicle.

Front Lower Arm Inner Side Bolt (Front) Removal Note [L5]

NOTE:
- When working on the left side of the vehicle, lower the front crossmember component slightly so that the oil pan does not interfere with the removal of the front lower arm front side bolt.

1. Slightly bend back the mudguard. Service and Repair

2. Remove the radiator hose bracket bolt.






3. Disconnect the steering pipe from the front crossmember.






4. Remove the crossmember bracket bolts A and loosen the crossmember nut B.






5. Support the crossmember component with a jack.






6. Remove the nuts at the front of the crossmember.

7. Lower the jack gradually and tilt the crossmember towards the front.

8. Remove the front lower arm inner side bolt (front).

NOTE:
- When working on the right side of vehicles, move the engine and transaxle slightly towards the front side of the vehicle so that the engine does not interfere with the removal of the lower arm rear side bolt.

1. Disconnect the No.1 engine mount (engine side). Removal and Replacement

2. Move the engine and transaxle slightly towards the front side of the vehicle.

3. Remove the front lower arm inner side bolt (front).

Front Lower Arm Inner Side Bolt (Front) Installation Note [L5]

1. Support the crossmember component with a jack.






2. Lower the jack gradually and tilt the crossmember towards the front.

3. Install the front lower arm inner side bolt (front).

4. Install the nuts at the front of the crossmember.

Tightening torque
- 120-154 Nm {13-15 kgf-m, 89-113 ft-lbf}

5. Install the crossmember bracket bolts A, and tighten the crossmember nut B.






Tightening torque
- Bolts A: 94-116 Nm {9.6-11 kgf-m, 70-85 ft-lbf}
- Nut B: 120-154 Nm {13-15 kgf-m, 89-113 ft-lbf}

6. Connect the steering pipe to the front crossmember.

Tightening torque
- 8-10 Nm {82-101 kgf-cm, 71-88 in-lbf}

7. Install the radiator hose bracket to the front crossmember.

1. Move the engine and transaxle slightly towards the front side of the vehicle.

2. Install the front lower arm inner side bolt (front).

3. Install the No. 1 engine mount (engine side). Removal and Replacement
