AXLE SEAL SQUEAK NOISE

2009-2010 Mazda6

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience a rotational squeak noise from the axle area (primarily the left side). The noise is only heard during rotation of the axle and may transmit out to the bearing/hub area. The noise may be caused by a dry axle seal.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Safely lift the vehicle on a hoist.

3. Remove the under-cover.

4. Verify the axle is fully seated into the transmission.

5. Using white lithium grease, spray grease directly between the seal and axle; rotate the axle.

6. Verify repair.
