Front Seat Removal/Installation




FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNING:
- Handling the front seat (side air bag) improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before handling the front seat. Air Bag System Service Warnings Air Bag System Service Cautions

CAUTION:
- For vehicles with the two-step deployment air bag system, when the passenger's seat is removed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS after installing the passenger's seat. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
- For vehicles with the two-step deployment air bag system, when the passenger's seat is replaced with a new one, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS.
- After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed.
- Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat.
- When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

2. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.

4. Press connector tab A in the direction of the arrow.






5. Pull out the connector lock in the direction of the arrow and disconnect the connector.






6. Remove the seat belt anchor (passenger's side). Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

7. Remove the covers.






8. Remove the bolts, then remove the front seat.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.

10. Perform the weight sensor initialization procedure.
