Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair




RESISTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER]

1. Remove the battery and battery tray. Removal and Replacement

2. Remove the following parts:
a. Front scuff plate inner (driver's side) Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

b. Front side trim (driver's side) Front Side Trim Removal/Installation

c. Side wall Side Wall Removal/Installation

d. Selector lever component (ATX) Service and Repair

e. Shift lever component (MTX) Service and Repair

f. Front console Front Console Removal/Installation

g. Hood release lever Service and Repair

h. Lower panel Lower Panel Removal/Installation

i. Accelerator pedal Service and Repair

j. Brake pedal Service and Repair

3. Disconnect the blower motor cooling pipe connected to the blower motor.

4. Disconnect the resistor connector.

5. Remove the resistor.

6. Affix the gummed tape to the thread hole area as shown in the figure. (Do not wrap the gummed tape around the backside of the resistor.)






7. Stick the screw into the thread hole.






8. Set the resistor to the A/C unit and temporarily tighten the hexagon head screw.






CAUTION:
- While setting the resistor, be careful not to damage the pattern surface. Otherwise it could cause a resistor operation malfunction.

9. Tighten the lower screw.

10. Tighten the hexagon head screw.

11. Connect the resistor connector.

12. Connect the blower motor cooling pipe.

13. Install the following parts:
a. Brake pedal Service and Repair

b. Accelerator pedal Service and Repair

c. Lower panel Lower Panel Removal/Installation

d. Hood release lever Service and Repair

e. Front console Front Console Removal/Installation

f. Selector lever component (ATX) Service and Repair

g. Shift lever component (MTX) Service and Repair

h. Side wall Side Wall Removal/Installation

i. Front side trim (driver's side) Front Side Trim Removal/Installation

j. Front scuff plate inner (driver's side) Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

14. Install the battery and battery tray. Removal and Replacement
