Clutch Disc: Testing and Inspection




CLUTCH DISC INSPECTION

1. Refer to CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION to remove the clutch disc. Service and Repair

2. Inspect the lining surface for discoloration and grease adhesion.

3. Inspect the torsion spring for weakness and the rivet for looseness.

4. Using a vernier caliper, measure the depth between the lining surface and the rivet head.






- If it is less than the minimum specification, replace the clutch disc. Service and Repair

- 0.3 mm {0.012 in}

5. Measure the clutch disc runout using a dial gauge.






- If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch disc. Service and Repair

- 0.7 mm {0.028 in}

6. Install the clutch disc. Service and Repair
