Clutch Hydraulic System: Service and Repair
CLUTCH FLUID AIR BLEEDING/REPLACEMENT
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill clutch fluid on a painted surface. If this should happen, wash it off immediately.
NOTE:
- Do not mix different brands of clutch fluid.
- Do not reuse the clutch fluid that was drained out.
1. Draw the fluid from the reservoir tank with a suction pump.
2. Remove the bleeder cap from the bleeder plug and attach a vinyl hose to the bleeder plug.
3. Place the other end of the vinyl hose into a container.
4. Slowly pump the clutch pedal several times.
5. With the clutch pedal depressed, loosen the bleeder screw to let fluid escape.
6. Tighten the bleeder screw to stop the fluid.
7. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until only clean fluid without air is seen.
8. Tighten the bleeder screw.
Tightening torque
- 5.0-10.0 Nm {51-101 kgf-cm, 45-88 in-lbf}
9. Add fluid to the MAX mark.
10. Verify the correct clutch operation.
