Clutch Cover Inspection
CLUTCH COVER INSPECTION [A26M-R]
1. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the PCM cover No.1. Service and Repair
4. Disconnect the PCM connector. Service and Repair
5. Remove the following parts:
a. Battery tray and PCM component Removal and Replacement
b. Air cleaner component Service and Repair
c. Charge air cooler cover Service and Repair
d. Charge air cooler Service and Repair
e. Fuel pump resistor Service and Repair
f. Front tires Service and Repair
g. Splash shield Splash Shield Removal/Installation
h. Aerodynamic under cover No.2 Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2 Removal/Installation
i. WU-TWC bracket Service and Repair
j. Starter Removal and Replacement
k. Front auto leveling sensor Service and Repair
6. Drain the transaxle oil into a suitable container. Transaxle Oil Replacement
7. Remove the manual transaxle. Manual Transaxle Removal/Installation
8. Remove the clutch cover. Service and Repair
9. Measure the wear of the diaphragm spring fingers.
- If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch cover. Service and Repair

- 0.6 mm {0.02 in} max.
10. Measure the flatness of the pressure plate with a straight edge and a feeler gauge.
- If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch cover. Service and Repair

- 0.3 mm {0.01 in} max.
11. When checking the diaphragm spring fingers, mount a dial gauge on the cylinder block.
12. Rotate the flywheel and check for misaligned diaphragm spring fingers.
- If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch cover. Service and Repair

- 1.0 mm {0.039 in} max.
13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
14. Perform the auto leveling system initialization. Programming and Relearning
15. Add the specified amount of specified transaxle oil. Transaxle Oil Replacement
16. Warm up the engine and transaxle, inspect for oil leakage, and inspect the transaxle operation.
WARNING:
- Improperly jacking a transaxle is dangerous. It can slip off the jack and may cause serious injury.
NOTE:
- If the transaxle is overhauled and installed to the vehicle, perform the 'INSPECTION AFTER TRANSAXLE OVERHAUL' and verify that there is no abnormality. Inspection After Transaxle Installation
