Engine Disassembly/Assembly




ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [13B-MSP]

CAUTION:
- The oil pan could be damaged or dented if the engine's own weight is subjected to an impact against a level surface. Always set two pieces of wood in the positions shown in the figure to prevent the oil pan from being dented. If the oil pan is dented, the amount of intake oil and the fluid pressure will decrease.





1. Remove the engine from the transmission. Transmission Removal/Installation Automatic Transmission Removal/Installation - SJ6A-EL

2. Remove the following parts:
a. Clutch unit (MT) Removal and Replacement

b. Drive plate (AT) Drive Plate Removal/Installation - SJ6A-EL

c. Exhaust manifold Service and Repair

d. Extension manifold (upper and lower) Intake-Air System Removal/Installation

e. Oil filler pipe Intake-Air System Removal/Installation

f. Metering oil pump (No.1 and No.2) Service and Repair

g. Oil nozzle Service and Repair

h. Fuel distributor (intake manifold side and housing side) Service and Repair

i. Intake manifold Intake Manifold Removal/Installation

j. Generator Removal and Replacement

k. Wiring harness

l. Oil filter Service and Repair

3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.









Dipstick Pipe Installation Note

CAUTION:
- Lubricate the new O-ring with the grease included in the O-ring packaging.

Metering Oil Pump Bracket Installation Note

1. Tighten the metering oil pump bracket No.2 installation bolts in the order shown.





Tightening torque
1 18.6-25.5 Nm {1.9-2.6 kgf-m, 13.8-18.8 ft-lbf}
