2012 Mazda5 vehicles equipped with auto headlights

2011-2012 Mazda6 vehicles equipped with auto headlights

DESCRIPTION

On some vehicles, the low beam headlights may not turn on at the same time as the parking lights when driving in dim light conditions (i.e. dawn, dusk, cloudy, etc.) with the auto light system activated. However, when it becomes dark, the low beams illuminate normally.

NOTE:
Customers who have had the auto light system changed to a more sensitive setting (through the personalization features), are more likely to encounter this condition.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.





2. Replace the rain sensor (auto light sensor) with a modified part according to the MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual (section 09-19 RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

3. Verify repair.
