Bulletin No: 09-026/11
Last Issued: 10/05/2011

Subject:
RUST ON BOTTOM OF REAR DOOR GLASS GUIDE

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS

2010-2012 Mazda3 (including Mazdaspeed3) with VINS lower than JM1BL******445191 (produced before January 6, 2011)

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may exhibit rust on the bottom of the rear door glass guide (A) from contact with the rear beltline molding (B). This is caused by a vibration while driving.

In order to keep clearance between the door glass guide and the rear beltline molding, the design of the beltline molding has been changed. A pad has been added on the rear beltline molding to prevent contact. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Replace the rear door glass guide (A) with a new one and the rear beltline molding (B) with a modified one. Refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual section 09-12 REAR DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION and 09-16 REAR BELTLINE MOLDING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.

3. Verify repair.
