The road network which is shown is depicted in extremely simplified terms
Destination guidance is the generation and output of driving recommendations, in order to guide the driver to the desired destination. The prerequisites for route guidance are:
- The constant position finding is active (self operating),
- the destination has been entered, and
- the route has been calculated.
The navigation processor continuously compares the data from the route calculation with the data from continuous position finding and uses this to establish the map matching, and derives the measures for further destination finding from these. Depending on the position of the vehicle, a distinction can be made between two destination finding system modes:
- Destination finding within CD-ROM map area. the digitized
- Restricted destination finding outside CD-ROM the digitized map area.
