Air Conditioning Regulates Too Cold / Hot or Implausibly, DTC B1008

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the air conditioning regulating too cold, hot or implausibly, the cause may be the sun sensor. To resolve, perform the following.

1. Verify correct version coding (national version, left/right hand drive, engine variant).

2. DTC B1008 may be present.

3. Check the part number of the sun sensor in the vehicle. If the part number is A163 820 73 10, replace the sensor with part number A163 820 74 10. The new sensors have been installed in production since 9/03.
