Model 463.249, from VIN X123094 and up to VIN X162545
Electric Seat Adjustment Switch Forward and Rearward Functions Reversed
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the electric seat adjustment switch forward and rearward functions are reversed, the wiring harness must be replaced with gold plug contacts on the left and right door control modules (N69/1 and N69/2 connector 3) and left and right seat adjustment switch (S89 and S90).
1. Remove door panel per WIS Document AR72.10-P-1000G.
2. Unplug connector 3 at the Door Control Module (DCM) N69/1 or N69/2.
3. Remove tape from wires to connector 3 (Figure 1).
4. Remove tape from wires to Seat Adjustment Switch S89 or S90 (Figure 2).
5. Cut the wires to the switch 125mm from the end of the connector and strip off 15mm of insulation.
6. Cut 6 new wires A000 540 48 05 to 140mm in length from the end of the socket and strip off 15mm of insulation, attach the new wires to the existing using solder splices per WIS Document AR00.19-P-0100A (Figure 3).
7. Open lock on removed connector and removing one wire at a time and installing the correct new wire in the same location, transfer new wires to existing connector (Figure 4).
8. Wrap wires with cloth tape.
9. Repeat this process at the wires for connector 3 except cut these wires 50mm from end of connector and cut new wires 80mm in length stripping 15mm of insulation off of both (Figure 5).
10. Plug connector 3 back into Door Control Module (DCM).
11. Secure harness with loom ties.
12. Reinstall door panel per WIS Document AR72.10-P-1000GN.
13. Verify correct operation of all seat functions.
