1.1 Raise vehicle at front axle and move front wheels to straight-ahead position.
Vehicles with mechanical steering.
1.2 Start engine and move front wheels to straight-ahead position.
Vehicles with power steering. Do not raise the vehicle.
2.1 Turn steering wheel at short intervals alternately to the left and right within the indicated range (a).
Vehicles with mechanical steering. Each steering wheel movement must be transferred to the front wheels without play. No knocking should be heard in the steering gear.
2.2 Turn steering wheel alternately to the left and right.
Vehicles with power steering. The front wheels must move when the steering wheel is turned by the distance shown in the illustration (a). No knocking should be heard in the
3 Lower vehicle.
Vehicle with mechanical steering.
