Handle





Removing:

1 Install handles (1) on torque converter (2).





2 Pull out torque converter (2) and detach handles (1).





Installing:

1 Mount handles (1) on the torque converter (2).





2 Smear outside of drive flange (arrow) with long-term grease.
3 Push on torque converter (2) and detach handles (1).





4 Measure distance "A" between torque converter and housing.

Distance "A" must be 5 mm.

Exception 500 GE - here the torque converter must be recessed approx. 30 mm at the converter housing.





5 Turn torque converter (2) so that one of the three tapped plates (arrow) points downwards.
6 Lubricate centering spigot (3) lightly.

This installed position of the torque converter makes it easier to assemble the driver plates bolts to the torque converter.
