GF46.15-P-2003GZ Storing Steering Column Position, Function
GF46.15-P-2003GZ Storing steering column position, function
- with CODE (441) Electronically adjustable steering column
Function requirements:
^ Circuit 15R On or respective front door open (up to 31.5.07)
^ Driver seat normalized
Manual storage
The position of the steering column (together with the seat position and the position of the outside mirrors) is stored via the memory switch 1, 2, 3 (S91s9) in the switch group for driver seat adjustment with memory (S91). There are two alternative button operations for memory:
^ Keep memory switch (S91s9) of switch group for driver-seat adjustment pressed and for this purpose press the corresponding position key (1, 2 or 3) of the memory switch 1, 2, 3 for more than 40 ms.
^ Press memory switch for longer than 200 ms and release. Within less than 3 s, press the relevant position key (1, 2 or 3) of the memory button 1, 2, 3 switch for longer than 40 ms.
The buttons and the memory button of the driver seat adjustment switch group are read in discretely from the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1). The front seat adjustment control unit stores the current position of the seat.
Automatic memory
When the engine is switched off (as of circuit 15 OFF) the last position of the steering column is stored in the front seat adjustment control unit.
Vehicles up to 31.5.06:
The storage takes place key-dependent in the front seat adjustment control unit. As a result when a key is changed a new driving position of the steering column, assigned to the transmitter key (A8/1), is adjusted.
Vehicles as of 1.6.07:
Once the steering column position is stored an acoustic feedback takes place through the warning buzzer integrated in the instrument cluster (A1)(A1h1).
