Location
The left and right vent window motors are located in the trunk at side.

Design
The vent window motors are DC motors which turn to the right or left depending on the actuation.

Task
Left and right vent window drive

Function
The function is triggered when the switch on the driver power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20/1) is actuated in the "Opening" or "Closing" direction.The switch position is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) via LIN-BUS and the corresponding message is relayed to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) via CAN-B bus. It then actuates the left and right vent window motors.

The vent window are opened and closed manually, i.e. the switch must be held down for completely opening/closing the vent window.

Excess force limiter of the vent window is realized via the obstruction sensor strip on the left vent window (B51/5) and the obstruction sensor strip on the right vent window (B51/6), which is read in discretely by the rear SAM control unit.

Overload protection
The power window motors are switched off by a thermal switch to protect against overheating. After a waiting time of 5 to 10 s, the power window motor switched off can be actuated again.
