C. Mounting the optional voice control module (VCM)





1. Pull back the left, front carpeting to expose the VCM mounting bracket beneath (Figure 10).

2. Remove the VCM bracket.





3. Mount the VCM to the bracket with two 4 mm nuts and washers (Figure 11).





4. Connect the 15-pin D-connector to the VCM (A, Figure 12).

5. Remove the coupler from the D2B optical fiber connector.

6. Install the straight D2B connector shell onto the D2B cable.

Note:
The D2B cable with the red end goes to the angled side of the D2B connector shell. The D2B cable with the clear end goes to the straight side of the D2B connector shell.

7. Connect the D2B connector to the VCM (B, Figure 12).

8. Reinstall the VCM/bracket assembly.

9. Reinstall the carpeting.
