GF82.61-P-2007GZ Audio 50 APS Audio Functions
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
Radio
The roof antenna module (A2/93) filters the amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM) signals, amplifies them, and transmits them to the radio and navigation unit (A2/56). The signals are demodulated in the AM and FM radio receiver and the wanted signal is amplified and output over the vehicle speakers With code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are digitized and transmitted from the radio and navigation unit via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the amplifier for sound system (N40/3). There, the audio signals are processed, amplified and output over the vehicle speaker.
Radio functions
^ Receiver for FM and AM signals from radio stations
^ AM interference suppression
^ Generation of the signal for the intermediate frequency (IF [ZF]) feedback (for activating the diversity processor in the roof antenna module, only in the FM band)
^ Automatic station search for traffic stations after the loss of a TP station (background scan)
^ RDS-EON (reception of TP stations belonging to the same station network)
^ Selection of the preferred radio station (via the buttons on the radio and navigation unit and via the function keys of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) (left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110), right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111))
^ SEEK (automatic station search)
^ Tune (manual tuning)
^ Last Mode (when switched on again, the system tunes to the radio station that was active last)
Playing audio CDs
The single-slot drive above the display of the radio and navigation unit and the CD changer (A2/6) (code (819) 6-disk CD changer ) can play CD audio media (in Red Book audio format) and data CDs with MP3 files (max. 99 tracks). The following can be controlled with the menu
^ "TrackMix" (Off, CD, all CDs in CD changer)
^ "Repeat" (Off and Track)
^ Track skip forward and backward
^ Manual track entry via keys, "*" and number entry
^ Stop and Play (for mute only)
^ Track search forward and backward
^ Intro Scan
^ Automatic CD reload (when medium is not removed from slot after 20 seconds)
^ Display of time, title and number of all the pieces of music
^ Track number of the music track currently playing
^ Repeat status, track switch, play switch, random play switch
With code (819) 6-disk CD changer, the radio and navigation unit automatically displays which CD slots contain a CD. In the process, the CD change slots are shown numbered consecutively accordingly (CD 1 to CD 6).
User guidance for controlling CD functionality and displaying supplemental information is done in the radio and navigation unit display. The most important information is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1).
The most important functions can also be controlled using the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel (left multifunction steering wheel button group, right multifunction steering wheel button group).
The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) and the associated audio functions are actuated at the MFL using the VCS [SBS] on button (S111s4) and the VCS [SBS] off button (S110s4). A signal tone is emitted after the voice control system has been activated. An external analog audio source can be connected to the radio and navigation unit via the AUX jack in the glove box. Data exchange via a discrete line.
The audio signals are transmitted digitally from the radio and navigation unit to the amplifier for sound system with code (810) Sound system via MOST, amplified, and output over the speakers installed in the vehicle.
On vehicles except code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are amplified by the radio and navigation unit and output directly over the speakers installed in the vehicle.
In addition to playing audio media, the drive of the radio and navigation unit is also used for reading out the navigation data media.
