GF40.15-P-2001GZ Detect Seeping Pressure Loss, Function
GF40.15-P-2001GZ Detecting seeping pressure loss, function
MODEL 164
with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (Siemens)
except CODE (498) Japan version
Function
The "mild warning" operating mode is characterized by a minimum this is tire pressure at which the vehicle can continue to be driven safely.
Via the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) the driver is requested to correct the tire inflation pressure at the next opportunity. A "soft warning" is triggered when the temperature-corrected tire inflation pressure is >0.25 bar lower than the stored nominal pressure.
This first takes place at circuit 15 "ON" and is displayed immediately after the start of the trip. The driver is therefore requested to check the tire inflation pressure and correct if necessary.
Every tire loses air by diffusion over the course of time; therefore displayed as a "soft warning".
This timely message to the driver that the tire pressures need to be corrected is a convenience function.
The warning is canceled when filling detection or a manual reactivation is successfully carried out.
If the temperature-corrected tire inflation pressure is >0.5 bar under the stored specified pressure, a "hard warning" ("red" display) follows. requested to check the tire inflation pressure and correct if necessary.
The "hard warning" only continues to be displayed with circuit 15 "ON". When circuit 15 is switched back "ON" a "soft warning" is issued. The "soft warning" is displayed again after each engine start if the system is not reactivated or if successful tire inflation is not detected.
The driver is requested to stop and check the condition of the tires. It is the driver's responsibility to decide whether to continue the trip at low speed to the next workshop or whether an on-site repair (fitting spare tire or using TIREFIT) is necessary.
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster is activated at the same time as the "hard warning". It does not go out until the tire pressure monitoring system is reactivated.
