Location
The pressure sensor is located at the front between the right cylinder head and the air pump.

Task
Detects the absolute pressure in the intake manifold for the following functions:
- Function chain test OBD and EURO4/
(e.g. exhaust gas recirculation or (USA) leak tightness of evaporative emission control system)
- Altitude recognition for starting mixture enrichment
- Check air mass.







Function
The air pressure deforms a membrane, which affects a potentiometer. This alters the resistance value of the potentiometer and influences the output voltage, which is used as information regarding the intake air pressure for the ME control unit. The pressure gauge range is between 0.1 up to 1.2 bar.
