Component Identification:






Location
The rear SAM control unit is located in the right rear luggage compartment on the wheelhouse

General
The rear SAM control unit serves to exchange data and is connected to the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B).

Task
The rear SAM control unit reads in the following components, sensors and switches and if necessary control their function illumination and switch and controls illumination.

Controlling
^ Vent windows
^ Heated rear window (R1)
^ Rear exterior lights
^ Turn signal functions
^ Central locking of tank cap
^ Right rear door central locking system
^ Central locking, rear-end door
^ Rear-end door power closing
^ Load compartment illumination
^ Trailer recognition and trailer illumination

^ Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) (with code 551 Anti-theft alarm system (ATA))
^ Left and right rear door illumination

Trailer recognition
The rear SAM control unit transmits the information for trailer recognition to the PTS control unit (N62) via CAN-B. If a trailer is recognized, the rear PTS is not activated when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear or idle.Otherwise, the trailer would b recognized as an obstacle.
