Radio
The roof antenna module (A2/93) filters and amplifies the amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM) signals and sends them to the audio gateway control unit (N93/1). A radio single tuner is integrated into the audio gateway control unit. The tuner is integrated into the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) and it can only be operated by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
With code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are sent via the MOST to the amplifier for sound system (N40/3), where they are then amplified and forwarded to the vehicle speakers. To enable this function to be operated the audio gateway control unit generates an interface. Audio signals are amplified in the audio gateway control unit and forwarded to the vehicle speakers.
