AZ88.00-P-0001-02RT Converting Front Bumper
Check components removed from standard bumper before assembly and replace if damaged.
Pay attention to paint damage.
Shown on standard bumper, model 251
Vehicles with headlamp cleaning system, code 600
1.1. Insert HCS frame (headlamp cleaning system) (18) into front bumper paneling (1) with retaining lugs (19) (see arrows in magnified section at right bottom).
Ensure that the HCS frame (18) is seated correctly in the left and right cutouts in the front bumper paneling (1).
Vehicles with headlamp cleaning system, code 600
2.1.Fasten HCS frame (18) to front bumper paneling (1) with expansion rivets (dia. 8 mm) (17).
HCS frame (18) is different for left and right side.
When retrofitting AMG-front bumper paneling, hold-down clips are used to fasten the HCS frame (18) instead of expansion rivets (dia. 8 mm) (17).
3. Insert sheet metal nuts for air ducting grate (42) (12 each) into front bumper paneling (1) (see picture).
Vehicles with cornering illumination, code 619 or front fog lamp
4.1. Insert sheet metal nuts for front fog lamps (29) (8 each) into front bumper paneling (1) (see picture).
5. Insert reinforcements (3) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) and fasten with one expansion rivet each (dia. 5 mm) (4).
The reinforcements (3) must arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1) (see arrows).
6. Insert center impact absorber (6) into front bumper basic carrier (2) and arrest..
The center impact absorber (6) must arrest correctly in the front bumper basic carrier (2) (see arrows).
7. Insert bottom center reinforcements (5) into front bumper paneling (1).
8. Insert front bumper basic carrier (2) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.
The front bumper basic carrier (2) must arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).
9. Fasten front bumper basic carrier (2) on right and left with two expansion rivets (dia. 8 mm) (17) each, two expansion rivets (dia. 5 mm) (4) and one blind rivet (10) in front bumper paneling (1).
10. Insert coverings (9) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1).
The coverings (9) must arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).
Vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) Code 220
11.1. Clip outer front left PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/1), center left front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/2), inner left front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/3), inner right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/4), center right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/5) and outer right front PTS ultrasonic sensor (B8/6) into brackets on front bumper paneling (1).
Previously check whether a decoupling ring (transparent silicon ring) is installed on all PTS ultrasonic sensors.
12.1. Lay PTS wiring harness (23) in front bumper basic carrier (2) as shown in picture and fasten to fastening shackles (circles).
13.1. Fasten right front engine compartment/bumper connector (X26/36) to front bumper on basic carrier (2) at right side with clamps.
Vehicles with cornering illumination, code 619 or front fog lamp
14.1. Route wiring harness for cornering illumination/front fog lamp and temperature sensor (24) in front bumper basic carrier (2) as shown in picture and mount on fastening shackles (circles).
15.1. Guide cornering illumination/front fog lamp connector (25) to cornering illumination/front fog lamp cutouts.
16.1. Guide position lamp connector (26) to position lamp passage.
17.1. Fasten left front engine compartment/bumper connector (X26/32) to front bumper basic carrier (2) at left using clamps.
18. Insert right impact absorber (7) and left impact absorber (8) in front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.
The right impact absorber (7) and left impact absorber (8) must arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1) (see arrows).
19. Insert left and right standing lamp and parking lamp (E6/14) into front bumper paneling (1) at front and fasten on inside with two combination nuts M5 (43) each.
The catch tab must arrest correctly (see arrow).
20. Connect position lamps connector (26) to lamp base and install lamp base in standing lamp and left and right standing and parking lamp (E6/14).
Vehicles with cornering illumination, code 619 or front fog lamp
21.1. Check whether seal (28) for left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) is seated correctly, close if necessary.
22.1. Connect AMG wiring harness (27) or front fog lamp each to left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2).
The left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) are different and marked according to the side of the vehicle (arrows), the AMG wiring harnesses (27) for the front fog lamps should point toward outside when installed.
Vehicles with cornering illumination, code 619 or front fog lamp
23.1. Insert left and right front fog lamp (E5/2) at front into front bumper paneling (1), align and fasten with bolts (31).
The adjustment screw should be positioned at bottom.

24.1. Connect left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp with AMG wiring harness (27) to cornering illumination/front fog lamp connector (25) to cornering illumination/front fog lamp wiring harness and temperature sensor.
The left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) are marked according to the side of the vehicle.

25. Insert left and right air ducting grate (41) into front bumper paneling (1), align and fasten with four 3.5 x 22 bolts (44) each.
26. Insert center air ducting grate (39) into front bumper paneling (1), align and fasten with six 3.5 x 22 bolts (44).
27. Hook towing eye cover (33) with check strap (34) into front bumper paneling (1) and clip in towing eye cover (33).
The towing eye cover (33) must arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).
28. Position license plate frame (35) outside of front bumper paneling (1) and prepare for assembly.
Use license plate frame (35) as template for marking holes. The distance (a) between the center and the outer edges of the license plate frame (35) should be equal (use center strut in center air passage as orientation aid). Align license plate frame (35) on contour of front bumper paneling (1).
29. Drill four holes for installation of license plate frame (35) and fasten license plate frame (35) to front bumper paneling (1) using four bolts.
Tighten bolts only with screwdriver.
