General function requirements
^ Circuit 15 On

Electric seat ventilation, general
The seat ventilation integrated into the driver/front passenger seat enables the seat cushions and the backrests to be ventilated in three ventilation stages.

During comfort opening with the transmitter key (A8/1) (infrared signal), the seat ventilation of the driver seat is switched on in stage 3 for t = 5 min.

The seat ventilation consists of the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence, switching on, over and off manually
^ Function sequence, automatic shutoff

Function sequence, switching on, over and off manually
The left front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s13) and the right front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s14) in the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) are used to switch the seat ventilation on and off and regulate the ventilating power.
The electric seat ventilation is operated as follows:
- Operating the seat ventilation switch once activates stage 3 of the seat ventilation. All three light-emitting diodes in the seat ventilation switch are actuated.
- Operating the seat ventilation switch again switches over to stage 2. Two light-emitting diodes in the seat ventilation switch are actuated.
- Operating the seat ventilation switch again switches over to stage 1. One light-emitting diode is actuated in the seat ventilation switch.
- A further actuation of the seat ventilation switch switches the seat ventilation off.

Each actuation of the seat ventilation switch is read in by the upper control panel control unit and sent via the interior CAN to the seat heater, seat ventilation and steering wheel heater control unit (N25/7). Depending on the requirement, this actuates the left front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/5) or the right front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/6).

The following motor groups are actuated by the respective blower regulators, depending on the requirement:
- Left front seat cushion ventilation motor group (M18/9)
- Left front seat backrest ventilation motor group (M18/10)
- Right front seat cushion ventilation motor group (M18/11)
- Right front backrest ventilation motor group (M18/12)

Switching the seat ventilation on, over or off by operating the respective seat ventilation switch is possible at any given time.

Function sequence, automatic shutoff
The automatic cutout subfunction consists of the following functions:
^ Shutoff after circuit 15R OFF
^ Switching off in the event of undervoltage
^ Switching off in the event of overvoltage

Switching off as under terminal 15R OFF
If circuit 15C remains On, the timer control continues to run for t = 5 min. If circuit 15R is switched on again, then the seat ventilation is also switched on again at the stage active according to the timer control.

Switching off in the event of undervoltage
If there is a voltage of U ≤1 0.5 V in the on-board electrical system for a period of t = 2 s, the seat ventilation is deactivated. After another five seconds the LEDs in the switches start to flash while there is still undervoltage. The timer control continues to run if the seat ventilation is switched off due to undervoltage.

Switching off in the event of overvoltage
If there is a voltage of U ≥1 6 V in the on-board electrical system for a period of t = 2 s, the seat ventilation is deactivated.

The timer control continues to run if the seat ventilation is switched off due to overvoltage.
