GF82.10-P-2117RT Component Description Of Headlamp Range Adjustment Power Module
- with CODE (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination

Component Identification:

Location
The HRA [LWR] power module for the front left lamp unit and the HRA [LWR] power module for the front right lamp unit are located under the housing of each lamp unit.

Task
The HRA [LWR] power modules actuate, on request from the headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71), the following adjustment motors:
Left headlamp range adjustment motor (E1m1)
Right headlamp range adjustment motor (E2m1)
Left dynamic curve illumination motor (E1m2)
Right dynamic curve illumination motor (E2m2)

Right/left detection through plug coding inquiry
After connecting a new HRA [LWR] power module (as backup), the HRA [LWR] power module recognizes where it has been installed by the voltage levels at two connector pins.

After fault-free detection of the installation location the HRA [LWR] power module registers accordingly at the headlamp range adjustment control unit.

Actuation of headlamp range adjustment motors
After receiving a valid specified value a stepper motor driver is used to actuate the left or right headlamp range adjustment motor. The stepper motor driver can detect electrical faults such as, e.g. short circuits and open circuits. Once a fault has been detected the HRA [LWR] power module starts a fault routine and notifies the headlamp range adjustment control unit of the given faults.

Actuation of dynamic curve illumination motors
After reception of a valid specified value, a stepper motor driver actuates the left or right dynamic curve illumination motor. The stepper motor driver can detect electrical faults such as, e.g. short circuits and open circuits. Once a fault has been detected the HRA [LWR] power module starts a fault routine and notifies the headlamp range adjustment control unit of the given faults.
