Function
The upper control panel control unit reads in the status of the rotary light switch via LIN and transmits this to the front SAM control unit via CAN-B.

The front SAM control unit actuates the supply modules accordingly.
These generate an ignition auxiliary voltage and pass this on to the xenon headlamp ignition modules.

For their part, the xenon headlamp ignition modules generate the ignition voltage required for igniting the xenon bulbs. When successfully ignited, the xenon headlamps are supplied with operating voltage by the supply modules.
