GF46.50-P-0001RT Speed-Sensitive Power Steering (SPS), Function

GF46.50-P-0001RT Speed-sensitive power steering (SPS), function
- up to model year 08

Component Identification:

The speed-sensitive power steering (SPS) gradually increases the manual effort required to turn the steering wheel from when the vehicle is stationary up to a speed of approximately 100 km/h.

When stationary, the steering assistance is similar to that of the hydraulic power steering (without SPS function).

Vehicle speed serves as a parameter which with the aid of electronics adapts the hydraulic reaction assembly via the SPS solenoid valve to the respective requirement in the vehicle speed range from 0 to approx. 100 km/h.

The electronic control is integrated in the ESP control unit.
