Creating station list
The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) allows the user to create a station list. Frequently selected stations can be stored in the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3), together with freely selectable names or the correct station name. 15 entries can be stored.
To create or extend a personal station list when the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) is switched on, the user needs-after activation of the VCS [SBS] with the VCS [SBS] on button (S111s4) and activation of the radio application via the VCS [SBS] with the "Radio" command-the command : "Save station".
Then the VCS [SBS] prompts the user to enter a station name "Please say station name". If it is entered by the user, the VCS [SBS] prompts the user to enter the name again "Please repeat station name".
If a different name is given when the name is entered the second time, the VCS voice output requests the user to "Please say again". If the user then enters the first name, the VCS requests the user to repeat the name again. The system stores the station list entry (name and associated station) in the station list only when the associated name and its repetition are identical. The VCS [SBS] voice output then states "Station stored".
Calling up station list entries
The VCS [SBS] user can have the complete station list read out via the "Read station list" command.
In so doing the user can select a specific name and set a new station. Selection is accomplished by pressing the VCS [SBS] switch.
Selecting station from station list
The VCS [SBS] user can use the "Select station" command to select a station from the station list. Following this command, the VCS [SBS] prompts the user to enter a station name "Please say name". If the user states a name present in the station list, the VCS [SBS] changes to the desired station after the station name has been repeated.
Deleting individual entries from the station list
The user can use the "Delete station" command to delete an individual entry from the station list. The VCS [SBS] then prompts the user to state the station name to be deleted with "Please say station name". After entry of the station name by the user, he/she is asked whether the selected name is really to be deleted. If the user answers "Yes", then the specified station name is deleted from the station list together with the VCS [SBS] voice output "Station deleted". If the user answers "No", the name remains stored.
Any other word spoken by the user terminates the dialogue with the VCS [SBS].
Deleting entire station list
The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) allows the user to store a station list. The user can use the "Delete station list" command to delete all entries from the station list. In response to the command, the VCS [SBS] asks: "Do you really wish to delete the station list?" If the user answers "Yes", the VCS [SBS] asks for another confirmation "Are you sure" for the clear instruction. If the user answers "Yes" to this question, all station list entries are deleted. If the answer is "No", the voice control system starts to read out the station list entries.
While the station list is being read out, the user can select a station to be deleted by pressing the VCS [SBS] switch. The selected station name is then repeated by the VCS [SBS]. The user is then asked, as a confirmation, if the selected station really is to be deleted.
If the user answers "Yes", the specified station is deleted from the station list. If the user answers "No", the VCS [SBS] continues to read out the station list entries. Any other word terminates dialog with the VCS.
The user can cancel the dialogue with the VCS [SBS] at any time with the VCS [SBS] off button (S110s4).
