Reason for block

Complaint:

The outside door handle on the front door or rear door no longer returns automatically to the end position after actuation.

Cause:

Due to a bent pin in the dynamic balancer, the support spring of the bearing bracket can slide out of place or become unhooked.

Remedy:

Notes:
- All four bearing brackets must be repaired.
- The bending of the pin has no influence on the applicability of the repair method!
- Do not replace the lock!

1. Detach door trim (AR72.10-P-1000GZ)

2. Detach outside door handle ( AR72.10-P-2400GZ)

3. Detach door module ( AR72.10-P-0900GZ)

4. Detach door lock ( AR72.10-P-4011GZ)

5. Remove the old support spring from the bearing bracket (if the old spring is no longer present on the bearing bracket, it must be removed from the door shell).

5.1 Turn the spring through 90 using commercially available needle nose pliers (see attachment 2, item 2).

5.2 Pull the spring down with needle nose pliers (see attachment 3, item 3 and 4).

6. Lightly grease the spring pin (attachment 4, item 1, number 3) over its entire circumference with special lubricant (grease) so that the spring does not subsequently produce friction noises.

7. Install modified support spring. There is a distinction between the left-hand and right-hand spring.

7.1 Install the spring and slide upwards (see attachment 4 and 5, item 2, 3 and 4). Position the large angled arm of the spring (attachment 4, number 1) in the upper black plastic bracket.

7.2 Tension the U-shaped angled arm of the spring (attachment 4, number 2) with a commercially available screwdriver and hook it into the mounting bracket (see attachment 6, item 5, 6 and 7).

8. Install door lock ( AR72.10-P-4011GZ)

9. Mount door module ( AR72.10-P-0900GZ)

10. Mount outside door handle ( AR72.10-P-2400GZ)

11. Mount door trim (AR72.10-P-1000GZ)
