GF40.15-P-2004GZ Detecting Rapid Pressure Loss, Function
GF40.15-P-2004GZ Detecting rapid pressure loss, function
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (Siemens)
Function
Driving safety is no longer guaranteed if there is a rapid pressure loss. The driver is advised to stop and check the condition of the tires immediately. The driver is responsible for deciding whether to continue driving at low speed to the next specialist workshop or whether a repair (fitting the spare wheel or using TIREFIT) is necessary on site.
If the TPM [TPM] control unit (N88) detects that a rapid pressure loss (greater than 0.25 bar/min) exists at a wheel, a "hard warning" (display color: "red") takes place.
The "hard warning" is displayed when circuit 15 "ON" continues to be switched on.
A "soft warning" takes place when circuit 15 "ON" is switched on again. The "soft warning" is, if the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system is not reactivated, is repeated for each engine start.
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster A1 is actuated in parallel with the "hard warning". It only goes out after the tire pressure monitor system is reactivated.
