Complaint:

Implausible air distribution/faulty or implausible teach-in process of actuator motors - especially after replacement of AAC control panel or AC housing.

Cause:

Since 5 May 2007, the actuator motor for temperature lowering at the center air vent (M 16/27) in the air conditioner housing has been discontinued, both in series production and in the replacement parts system.

Remedy:

When replacing an AAC control panel or an air conditioner housing, the revelant coding must be set in the AC control unit using DAS.

The following applies:

1. AAC control panel replacement (vehicle is equipped with original AC housing from plant): Depending on the production date of the vehicle, the coding "Actuator motor for temperature lowering at center air vent (M 16/27)" must be set to present or not present using DAS.

2. AC housing replacement: Since the new AC housing from the replacement parts system is no longer equipped with actuator motor M 16/27, the coding "Actuator motor for temperature lowering at center air vent (M 16/27)" must regardless of the production date of the vehicle, always be to "not present"

3. ACC control panel replacement (vehicle is not equipped with original AC housing from plant - housing was already replaced as part of a past repair): Check when the replacement AC housing was installed in the vehicle repair history. If the AC housing was replaced before May, 2007 set the DAS coding "Actuator motor for temperature lowering at center air vent (M 16/27" to present. If the AC housing was replaced after May 2007, set the DAS coding "Actuator motor for temperature lowering at center air vent (M 16/27)" to not present.

The DAS coding "Actuator motor for temperature lowering at center air vent (M 16/27)" is found under:
