Function
The locator lighting serves to illuminate the area surrounding the vehicle when unlocking.
Function requirements:
- Locator lighting activated via instrument cluster (A1)
- Rain/light sensor (B38/2) signals "Darkness"
- Rotary light switch (S1) in "AUTO" position (with United States of America and Canada)
Function sequence
When the vehicle is unlocked (not with Keyless Go (with code (889) Keyless Go)) the locator finding function is activated for approx. t = 40 s.
The following lamps are activated via the locator finding function:
Left standing and parking lamp (E6/13)
- Right standing and parking lamp (E6/14)
- Left front fog lamp (E5/1)
- Right fog lamp (E5/2)
- Left front side-marker lamp United States of America (E6/1) (with United States of America and Canada)
- Right front side-marker lamp United States of America (E6/2) (with United states of America and Canada)
- Left outside mirror ambient lamp (M21/1e1)
- Right outside mirror ambient lamp (M21/2e1)
- Left stop lamp, taillamp, parking lamp, and side-marker lamp (E3e9)
- Right stop lamp, taillamp, parking lamp and side-marker lamp (E4e9)
- Left tailgate license plate lamp (E19/3)
- Right tailgate license plate lamp (E19/4)
Function abort
The function is interrupted by opening the drive door or by circuit 15C ON.
