GF82.30-P-3004RT Windshield Wiper, Function
GF82.30-P-3004RT Windshield Wiper, Function
Component Identification:
Function prerequisite
^ Circuit 15R On
Possible wiper stages
^ Intermittent wipe with variable intervals.
^ Continuous wiping at the required wiping speed.
Automatic control
In vehicles before production period 31.05.2006, the automatic wiper control (rain sensor mode) is switched on by turning the combination switch to position "Interval". In vehicles as of production period 01.06.2006, the sensitivity of the rain sensor can additionally be preselected:
Low sensitivity:
Combination switch in position "Interval 1"
High sensitivity:
Combination switch in position "Interval 2"
The wiper motor is actuated depending on
^ Degree of windshield wetting
^ Ambient light conditions
^ Vehicle speed
^ Outside temperature are actuated.
The rain/light sensor and the overhead control panel control unit evaluate the signals. The wiper motor is actuated via the CAN class B bus by the front SAM control unit.
Emergency running
If the communication between the rain/light sensor and the overhead control panel control unit fails, intermittent operation is activated at fixed intervals (approx. 5 sec.). If automatic speed reduction is active the interval is approx. 7.5 sec.
Wiping at defined speed
Continuous wiping is switched on by turning the combination switch to position "I" or "II".
The requests from the combination switch are transmitted to the front SAM control unit via the jacket tube module. The front SAM control unit actuates the wiper motor according to the requests:
^ For continuous wiping at low speed (stage 1, approx. 40 cycles per min), turn combination switch to position "I".
^ For continuous wiping at fast speed (stage 2, approx. 60 cycles per min), turn combination switch to position "II".
^ For touch wiping, briefly push combination switch to detent point.
By briefly pressing the combination switch, a single wipe is performed; when pressing for longer actuation, the wiping continues in accordance with the duration that the switch is actuated. Touch wiping is always performed in the current speed stage, however, at least on stage 1. Touch wiping has priority over intermittent wiping. Touch wiping is performed regardless of the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1).
