1 Open strapped-down loop of wake-up line branch-off (32) of SDAR wiring harness (30) (see arrow on left).
2 Open strapped-down loop of power supply line branch-off (36) of SDAR wiring harness (30) (see arrow on right).
Component Identification:
3 Position SDAR wiring harness (30) in right rear legroom as per picture.
4 Expose MOST coupling (25) of on-board MOST fiber optic cable in right rear legroom and fit MOST coupling (25) of on- board MOST fiber optic cable in SDAR connector (31) of SDAR wiring harness (30).
The MOST coupling (25) is from the on-board UPCI preinstallation wiring harness (50). If fitted, remove the caps from the MOST coupling (25) before installing in the SDAR connector (31).
On vehicles which are already equipped with a UPCI control unit, the MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) on the MOST coupling (25) of the UPCI control unit must be connected to the MOST ring for the SDAR control unit (1) as per the MOST ring sequence and installed in the SDAR connector (31) of the SDAR wiring harness (30).
Steps 14 and 15 below are not required for vehicles with UPCI control unit.
5 Connect SDAR connector (31) of SDAR wiring harness (30) to SDAR control unit (1) as per picture.
6 Connect antenna plug (9) to SDAR control unit (1) as per picture.
7 Remove foam material around circuit 31 right rear seat voltage distributor connector (Z204/3) in right rear legroom and release cover of circuit 31 right rear seat voltage distributor connector (Z204/3).
8 Pin ground pin (35) of ground connection line branch-off (34) into any free slot of circuit 31 right rear seat voltage distributor connector (Z204/3) as per picture, lock circuit 31 right rear seat voltage distributor connector (Z204/3) and secure ground connection line branch-off (34) to on-board wiring harnesses.
9 Attach foam material around circuit 31 right rear seat voltage distributor connector (Z204/3) in right rear legroom.
10 Route wake-up line branch-off (32) of SDAR wiring harness (30) along cable duct from right rear legroom into left rear legroom as per picture and secure to on-board wiring harnesses.
11 Remove foam material around wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2) in left rear legroom and release cover of wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2).
Red/black lines are connected to the wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2).
12 Pin in wake-up pin (33) of wake-up line branch-off (32) at any free slot of wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2) as per picture, lock wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2) and secure wake-up line branch-off (32) to on-board wiring harnesses.
13 Attach foam material around wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z100/2) in left rear legroom.
14 Route MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) parallel to on-board UPCI preinstallation wiring harness (50) as per picture and fix in place.
15 Secure MOST coupling housing (21) of MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) to on-board UPCI preinstallation wiring harness (50) as per picture.
The MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) replaces the UPCI preinstallation and is not connected.
16 On vehicles with rear air conditioning system, unscrew plastic nuts (44), disconnect plug (45) and remove air duct (46).
17 Route SDAR wiring harness (30) from right rear legroom to right rear wheel housing as per picture and secure to on- board wiring harnesses.
18 Route antenna line branch-off (8) and power supply line branch-off (36) of SDAR wiring harness (30) together along on-board wiring harnesses up to wiring harness attachment on right rear wheel housing (see arrow) and secure to on-board wiring harnesses.
19 Route antenna line branch-off (8) of SDAR wiring harness (30) to D-pillar as per picture and secure to on-board wiring harnesses.
20 Route antenna line branch-off (8) of SDAR wiring harness as per picture along on-board wiring harnesses on D-pillar up to body opening (see arrow in picture) and secure to on-board wiring harnesses.
21 Route antenna line branch-off (8) of SDAR wiring harness via roof frame strut to SDAR antenna (2) as per picture, connect antenna connector (7) of antenna line branch-off (8) of SDAR antenna (2) and secure antenna line branch-off (8) to roof antenna module (A2/93) using cable tie (see arrow in enlarged detail).
22 With roof frame struts without on-board wiring harnesses, secure antenna line branch-off (8) to roof frame strut using self-adhesive felt.
23 Route power supply line branch-off (36) of SDAR wiring harness in spare tire well as per picture and secure to onboard wiring harnesses.
24 Disconnect blue connector (38) from slot P3 of load compartment fuse and relay box (F4).
25 Pin power supply pin (37) of power supply line branch-off (36) into contact cavity 4 of blue connector (38).
26 Connect blue connector (38) to slot P3 of load compartment fuse and relay box (F4).
27 Fit 7.5 amp fuse at fuse slot 39 of load compartment fuse and relay box (F4).
Depending on the special equipment, a 7.5 amp fuse may already be fitted at fuse slot 39 of the load compartment fuse and relay box (F4).
28 Vehicles with rear air conditioning system
- Install air duct (46) as per picture, secure using plastic nuts (44) and connect plug (45).
