GF54.30-P-2006RT Activate Instrument Cluster, Function
Component Identification:
Activating the instrument cluster
Black-Screen technology means that the details of the instrument cluster (e.g. displays, display instruments, trip computer) are only clearly visible when the instrument cluster is activated.
If the instrument cluster is activated, the current contents are shown in the displays and the instrument cluster illumination switched on as well as the fuel reserve indicator lamp (A1e4) actuated.
The instrument cluster is activated by switching on "circuit 15g". Once "circuit 15g" is switched off the instrument cluster remains active for a further 30 s, but can be extended up to 2 minutes when active warnings occur If "circuit 15g OFF", the instrument cluster is activated in the following circumstances:
^ The instrument cluster is activated for 30 seconds by pressing the instrument and controls illumination button, dim (A1s5) or instrument and controls illumination button, bright (A1s4) and trip odometer reset button (A1s3).
^ The instrument cluster is activated fro 30 seconds when the driver door is opened or closed.
^ When the standing lamp or driving lights are switched on the instrument cluster remains in operation as long as the standing lamp is switched on.
If one of the conditions mentioned occurs, while the instrument cluster is already active, then from this point in time the instrument cluster remains active for a further 30 seconds. The instrument cluster cannot be activated with the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel.
Networking
The condition of the left front door rotary tumbler microswitch is read in by the rear SAM control unit and placed as a CAN-message on the CAN-interior.
The status of the standing lamp (ON/OFF) is given by the front SAM control unit on the interior CAN.
