General front fog lamp actuation function sequence
Front fog light actuation consists of the following subfunctions:
^ Front fog lamp actuation
^ Rear fog lights actuation

Front fog lamp actuation

Function requirements
^ Circuit 30 ON
^ Rotary light switch in standing lights or low beams position and pulled out to the 1st detent stage.

Front fog lamp actuation function sequence
The position of the rotary light switch is read in directly by the front SAM.
The front SAM actuates the following components:
^ Left front fog lamp and right front fog lamp

Rear fog lights actuation

Function requirements
^ Circuit 30 ON
^ Rotary light switch in standing lights or low beams position and pulled out to the 2nd detent stage.

Rear fog light actuation function sequence
The position of the rotary light switch is read in directly by the front SAM. The front SAM sends the switch-on request via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the rear SAM and to the trailer recognition control unit.
The rear SAM then actuates the rear fog lamp on the driver side.
The trailer recognition control unit actuates the trailer's rear fog lamp via the trailer hitch socket (13-pin).
During trailer operation the rear fog lamps on the vehicle are not actuated.
