Bluetooth
Using Bluetooth, it is possible to connect modern communication devices, such as PDAs or laptops, to the phone system quickly and easily. Bluetooth is a worldwide open standard for connecting Bluetooth devices wirelessly and is based on radio technology in the 2.4 GHz range. One advantage of Bluetooth, next to the availability of Bluetooth devices that is already quite wide today, is the uncomplicated and spontaneous connection of Bluetooth devices to a Bluetooth network (ad-hoc network). The extremely high data security (128-bit encoding) and the relatively limited radius (approx. s = 10 m) of such a network is what makes the use of Bluetooth in the vehicle interesting.

Connecting Bluetooth devices
You can access the list of Bluetooth devices by selecting the following menus on the display of the "audio unit":
- System
- System settings
- Bluetooth

When the menu item "Search for Bluetooth devices" is selected, a list of the already recognized Bluetooth devices is displayed. This is where you can select and authorize the desired Bluetooth device. If the required Bluetooth device is not included in the list, you can search for further Bluetooth-capable units via the "Update" menu item.
