Location
The upper control panel control unit is located at the top of the center console.

The upper control panel control unit contains the following operating and display components:
^ Automatic child seat recognition airbag OFF indicator lamp (N72/1e1)
^ ESP OFF switch (N72/1s1)
^ Hazard warning system switch (N72/1s5)
^ Left front HS [SIH] switch (N72/1s10) (with code (H10) Driver and front passenger heated seats)
^ Right front HS [SIH] switch (N72/1s11) (with code (H10) Driver and front passenger heated seats)
^ Rear door wiper switch (N72/1s12)
^ Left front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s13) (as of 1.9.08 with code (S50) Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat)
^ Right front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s14) (as of 1.9.08 with code (S50) Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat)
^ 'Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (N72/1s16)
^ IMS [IRS] OFF switch (N72/1s19) (with code (FZ8) breaking and entering-/antitheft alarm system with interior protection)

Task
The upper control panel control unit passes on the requests of the respective switches via the interior CAN to the front signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) or to the rear signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/2).
